Purpose
To provide strategic oversight, discernment, and support for the development of missional communities that foster Christ-centered leadership, vibrant discipleship, and transformative parish life in the Diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.

Mandate
•  Pray, listen, learn, dream/envision what the Holy Spirit is calling us to be and do.
•  Guide, evaluate, and support ministries aligned with missional priorities.
•  Act as a think-tank for innovation in leadership and discipleship.
•  Respond to emerging needs with agility and discernment.
•  Delegate tasks and initiatives while ensuring alignment with diocesan vision.
•  Ensure resources (time, attention, funding) are directed to priority initiatives.

Scope & Responsibilities
•  Define and guide the implementation of missional priorities within the foundational framework.
•  Promote environments where faith is actively lived and shared.
•  Foster discipleship pathways for parishioners, seekers, and the de-churched.
•  Equip parishes to embody authentic Christian community and mission.
•  Support and oversee mission-edge leadership development.
•  General oversight of task groups.

Accountability
•  Reports to the Diocesan Bishop. Provides regular updates and seeks input from Diocesan Executive Council.
•  Collaborates closely with Director of Mission and Ministry Development o Vocations Coordinator (as required)

Desired Outcomes
•  Leadership: Faithful, discerning, humble, collaborative leaders grounded in the Triune God and committed to mission.
•  Discipleship: Joyful, sacrificial followers of Christ living a 24/7 faith through prayer, worship, service, and spiritual growth.
•  Parish Transformation: Communities that understand and live out the movement of Christian faith, offering clear discipleship pathways and embodying God’s Kinship.

Meetings & Members:
•  Team members possess apostolic and prophetic gifts. Serve for three-year terms, renewable twice, at the discretion of the Diocesan Bishop.
•  Two co-team leads share facilitation and oversight, appointed by the Diocesan Bishop.
•  Gather once a month (or every 6 weeks) for 2-4 hours. (+ occasional day away.)
•  Travel and other costs covered by the Diocese
•  Informal notes to be taken. Official occasional reports to the Bishop, Diocesan Executive Council, Diocesan Synod.
