ARCHDEACON A priest appointed to assist the Diocesan Bishop in oversight of a group of parishes. Traditional Archdeacons are the Oculi Episcopal — “the eyes of the Bishop.” In our Diocese Archdeacons are territorial (assigned to a region) and assist the bishop with pastoral matters in addition to parish duties.
REGIONAL DEAN A priest in an area who is given responsibility for a Region and assists the Bishop with administrative matters (finance, property).
