The beautiful Service of Advent Lessons and Carols will take place in the Round Church this year on December 7th at 5pm.
Music of the service will include Palestrina's Matin and Vesper Responsories, Rorate caeli by William Byrd, There is no rose by John Joubert, Charles Wood's 'Twas in the year that King Uzziah Died, Arvo Pärt's Bogoroditse Djevo and Ecce Dominus veniet by Jacob Handl. The music and readings will be based on the words of the traditional O Antiphons, first sung as early as the eighth century. Their repeated use of the word "Come!" reflects the longing of all people for the Divine Messiah.
The Offering at this Service will be in support of St. George’s Christmas Family Outreach. Everyone is invited to join us for this very moving service.
