2025 Request for Proposals—Community Ministry Partnerships

The Anglican Foundation of Canada

The Anglican Foundation of Canada (AFC) is inviting Anglicans across Canada to establish or expand community ministry partnerships in this year’s Request for Proposals (RFP). Having funded hundreds of community ministry projects across Canada, AFC knows what it takes to build successful partnerships in priority impact areas, such as food security, social justice, leadership and education, arts enrichment, and more. Through grant reports and testimonials, applicants are sharing with AFC their positive experiences working with a variety of partners, including other churches and faith groups, not-for-profit organizations, schools and community educators, and small businesses.

Anglicans Powering Potential is partnering with the YWCA in support of its Nova Scotia Transition and Advocacy Youth (NSTAY) program that offers a range of supports for youth who are, or have been, exploited or trafficked, to help them in exiting unsafe situations, healing from trauma, and planning for the future.

I ask for your assistance: fill it out for yourself, if you are currently serving or are open to serve as a Spiritual Director; as well as sharing it with others you know in the community who are ministering in this capacity.
We will be looking to know such details as availability (day/evenings/weekends); in-person/online/telephone; willingness to take new directees; and, interest in becoming part of a group for further training opportunities.

Diocesan Youth Camp 2025

Tune In With Yourself, With One Another, and With God

For this year's Diocesan Youth Camp (DYC), we are headed off to Big Cove Camp in Sutherlands River, Nova Scotia, for a weekend full of climbing high and low ropes, exploring our creativity, talking about prayer, worshipping together, and having lots of fun!

DYC is for youth in grades 7 to 12, and while we are still figuring out the fine details, registration is open now!

Thy Kingdom Come - 2025

This is the 10th year for the Church of England's campaign of mission-edged prayer called, Thy Kingdom Come. It is a global ecumenical prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray from Ascension to Pentecost for more people to come to know and experience Christ. This 'global wave of prayer' starts May 29 and runs until June 8.

This is a great way to energize long-time parishioners to PRAY, LISTEN and DISCERN how God is at work in our local neighbourhoods. There are a variety of resources, especially for community engagement, private or small group devotion and Sunday worship times. INCLUDES a free downloadable Novena Devotional, and MORE!

Faith in Motion

Bringing Electric Vehicle Charging to NS Faith Based Communities

Everyone is welcome to join faith groups across the province in exploring the benefits of installing EV Charging Stations in your faith building parking lot as a way to support your community, reduce GHGs, and visibly strengthen the NS charging network. Faith in Motion is providing 30 site assessments to faith-based communities this summer. You will gain access to EV charging, new revenue opportunities, and sustainability benefits while providing your local community with increased public charging access, reduction in emissions, and improved air quality.

In alignment with Synod 2025’s Resolution Therefore We Have Hope—affirming the Diocese’s ongoing commitment to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community—the Cathedral Church of All Saints, Halifax, is proud to launch its Say Yes! to Kids 2025 initiative: All Saints for Youth Justice.

Join us for a special Cathedral Club Jazz Benefit Concert on Saturday, June 7, from 7–10 p.m. at the Cathedral (1330 Cathedral Lane). This uplifting evening of music will support The Youth Project NS, a youth-led organization dedicated to creating safer, more inclusive spaces for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth.

"FUN" draiser Concert

St. James, Armdale and St. Timothy's presents a "FUN"draiser concert in support of refugee sponsorship, starring the big band sounds of Atlantic Sound Machine! Dancing is encouraged!

Father's Day Concert

Looking for a fun and family friendly way to celebrate this Father’s Day?

Join us at St. George’s Round Church for live music and a BBQ. This community event features the folk music of parish warden, Matthew Joel VanderKwaak, and songs sung by the award winning St. George’s Junior Choir. Music begins at 3:30pm followed by a BBQ picnic (serving fresh-fried potato chips) and lawn games at 5:00pm.
