Announcements

Mr. Ken MacIntosh has been appointed Parish Administrator for the Parish of St. Alban’s Sydney, effective March 1st.

Come and Find the Quiet Centre - Marking the 2nd anniversary of Covid-19

The Cathedral Church of All Saints will be holding an Open House on Tuesday, March 22nd to mark the second anniversary of the declaration of the State of Emergency in the Province of Nova Scotia. Throughout the day there will be moments for quiet prayer and contemplation, a cup of coffee and an opportunity to thank our healthcare workers who have led us through this pandemic with courage and grace. A special service of gratitude for healthcare workers will be held at 7:15pm in the Cathedral, with Bishop Sue Moxley as guest preacher. Expect more details next week, including liturgical resources for parishes who wish to hold similar services in their churches and communities -- and hopefully a pre-taped sermon from Bishop Sue. We would encourage you, as you’re able, to find ways during Lent (especially between March 16th – the declaration of a State of Emergency in PEI – and March 22nd) to thank healthcare workers in your own communities. While pandemic restrictions are loosening, Covid-19 will still be with us. There will be a degree of anxiety as we navigate these changes together. May we continue to work thoughtfully and prayerfully for the health and safety of all.

March 2nd, 2022

In anticipation of the upcoming changes to Public Health protocols in both Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island in the coming weeks, Bishop Sandra and our Executive Director, Rev. Ann Turner, have consulted with Archdeacons and Regional Deans to discuss our Diocesan Guidelines and seek input. We will be providing recommendations and advice to parishes, sharing Best Practices, and offering questions for Parish leadership to consider when considering the loosening of restrictions. This document will be sent first to clergy and then to NetNews subscribers before being posted on the Diocesan website. Please refer any questions about Covid-19 guidelines to Rev. CEWS News

Folks, thank you for continuing to record and send your parish’s monthly income for calculating wage subsidies.  Subsidies for organizations hard hit by the pandemic will continue at least through April 2022.  I expect the Diocese will continue to qualify, so please continue to send information to my attention at financialcontroller@nspeidiocese.ca.  For ease of processing revenue information, please use the attached form and return to me via email, and please title your email “CEWS.”  I drew-down subsidies from Canada Revenue this month.  Please expect to see them applied to January 2022 remittance advices in February 2022.

Thanks much for your help, Chris.

Women’s Ministry Sunday

Women’s Ministry Sunday

Sunday, March 6, 2022

Women’s Ministry Sunday was initiated by the Anglican Church Women Board to recognize and promote the many ways that women live out God’s mission in the church and community. It has evolved from: honouring the women and the ministry of their organized groups within the parish, to recognizing their ministry beyond the parish, including within their professional and community volunteer activities, to their collaboration with men where they work together for a common purpose, achieving a shared goal. To quote the Anglican Church Women hymn: The Love of Jesus Calls Us
# 434 Common Praise verse 4…..

The love of Jesus calls us in swiftly changing days,
to be God's co-creators in new and wondrous ways;
that God with men and women may so transform the earth,
that love and peace and justice may give God's kingdom birth.
