SYNOD 2025

SYNOD UPDATE

SYNOD UPDATE

MISSIONAL MOMENTS

In line with our theme, we invite parishes and parishioners to submit photos that depict moments of hope that we can showcase throughout Synod. As Bishop Sandra reflects on our theme, she likens it to the image of a seed breaking forth to eventually become a tree, and then a stump. We see how the tree, which emerged from a tiny seed, continues to bring forth new life, even after it has been cut down. This reminds us that, even as we face change and the loss of familiar aspects of Church life, new life still emerges. We are a people who believe in the resurrection of the dead. You can submit your photos of moments of hope to Rev. Carl Fraser, part of our tech team, at vocations@nspeidiocese.ca by Monday, May 5th, 2025.

REGISTRATION

ONLINE REGISTRATION – Registration is now LIVE!

Please ensure you register by the end of day May 8th to ensure you can participate in the meal plan. Meals in Morrison Hall will NOT be available for purchase at the time of Synod.

Red Dress Day, celebrated each year on May 5, also known as the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S), originated from Métis artist Jaime Black's "REDress (from the word redress) Project" in 2010. The project involved displaying red dresses in public spaces to symbolize the missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls in Canada and raise awareness about the crisis. A public display of red dresses is featured each May  5.

Thy Kingdom Come - 2025

This is the 10th year for the Church of England's campaign of mission-edged prayer called, Thy Kingdom Come. It is a global ecumenical prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray from Ascension to Pentecost for more people to come to know and experience Christ. This 'global wave of prayer' starts May 29 and runs until June 8.

This is a great way to energize long-time parishioners to PRAY, LISTEN and DISCERN how God is at work in our local neighbourhoods. There are a variety of resources, especially for community engagement, private or small group devotion and Sunday worship times. INCLUDES a free downloadable Novena Devotional, and MORE!
