Announcements from the Bishop’s Office
AppointmentArchbishop Ron Cutler has been appointed as Priest in Charge of the Parish of Hubbards effective May 10th, 2021. Diocesan Centre/Synod Office staff during the lockdownWhile the Diocesan Centre remains open from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm daily (items can be left through the mail slot inside the front doors) staff have been encouraged to work from home as much as possible and attend the office only when necessary. In the office or at home we are still here for you, and we thank you for your patience. Email and phone messages are checked and responded to regularly.
Staffing updateAs was shared in the Diocesan Council highlights a few weeks ago via the NetNews, it is recommended that the Diocese proceed with hiring employees for the role of Controller and Executive Director. This work is underway as we review these position descriptions and adapt them to changing realities and current needs. We recognize that there have been some questions about where to direct email and questions about financial matters. Email for our former Controller, Glen Greencorn, has already been redirected to the diocesan office email account and all financial matters of the Diocese and our parishes are being addressed as promptly as possible. Thank you for your patience in this interim time. For more infomation visit: http://nspeidiocese.ca/news/announcements-from-the-bishop-s-office

SIX-MINUTE STUDY #251WATCH FOR THE SIGNS Often there is more going on than we realize. The signs of flourishing ministry in congregations have moved far beyond Sunday worship attendance and the amount of offerings in the plate. Today we are measuring the signs of resurrection life that spring up in and through the church in a variety of ways other than traditional modes of ministry. Read, What if We Are on the Road to Emmaus?, written by Carla Leon, Innovation & Special Projects Co-ordinator for the EDGE – A Network for Ministry Development (published by Flourishing Congregations.org).

Diocese of the Windward Islands
I had the pleasure of Ministry in the Diocese of the Windward Islands in the first 6 months of 2010. I was assigned to a four point parish in Grenville, Grenada ( The Parish of St. Andrew’s). During my time I spent 3 days in St. Vincent for a clergy conference with Bishop Leopold Friday. Part of the time included a tour of the island. A number of my clergy friends in Grenada were actually from St. Vincent.

Canada Emergency Response Guidelines
While COVID-19 has swept climate change from the headlines, PWRDF continues to respond to climate-related and other disasters both overseas and here in Canada. As the potential for extreme weather emergencies or natural disasters has increased, there is a consensus among climatologists that these disasters are no longer isolated episodes. In recent years, some communities in Canada have been affected by particularly large and consequential disasters and Anglicans have offered support.
