CHANGING MINISTRY ROLES

Shared ministry. Two words we've used in our Diocese for many years. But what does that mean, really? As we are in the midst of massive shifts in the way we shape our congregational life and missional ministry, leadership expectations need to be examined. Read more about the potential for vitality with expanded ministry teams in this article from Flourishing Ministry Update (Abrose University, Alberta). It's called, “For here or to go?”, a question that could alter your perception of church, written by Chris Pullenayegem, Director – Congregational Vitality Initiative at the Vancouver School of Theology.

Canadian Church Calendar 2022

Canadian Church Calendar 2022

The Anglican Church Women Diocesan Board will be ordering the Canadian Church Calendar 2022 for distribution to the parishes. However, there is also the option for parishes to order directly from the Anglican Church of Canada (ACC) e-store www.anglican.ca/calendar. We ask that parishes using that option (of ordering directly from ACC for the 2022 calendar), that have been ordering calendars from the Board in the past, e-mail the Board regarding that decision to make the switch (acw.nsboard@gmail.com) by July 31, 2021. The Board needs to have a clearer sense of the number of calendars to order. Thank you.

Education for Ministry is Recruiting for the Fall

Education for Ministry is Recruiting for the Fall

Education for Ministry is a program designed for laity to provide theological study and reflection rooted in the Scriptures and traditions of the Church.

Participants meet once a week for 1.5 to 2 hours. Reading the textbook, the Bible and other works, doing the assignments  etc. will take more time on your own.  What each student takes away from EfM depends on how much time and energy are devoted to the course.

Each year of the four year course is 36 weeks long and can start in either September of January. In either case, there are no classes over the summer, and we take a break for Christmas.

More information can be found here: www.efmcanada.ca/onlinecourse.html or for information on EfM in our diocese: http://djharrison.ca/html%20pages/EfM.html  You  may also contact David Harrison (djh@djharrison.ca or 902-923-2902) he is the Diocesan EfM Coordinator and an EfM Online mentor.

Sea Sunday is the global celebration of the enduring and vital work of the Mission to Seafarers. It has been happening every year for over 160 years and is our biggest fundraising event of the year. Each year in July you can join with thousands of other Christians across the world who come together to pray, celebrate and fundraise to support those seafarers who are working so hard for us.
