Families are invited to join with others across the diocese in a fun and creative Lent project! Lent is often a time when people give something up to make room for God, but it can also be a time to take something on to help you draw nearer to God.

Each family that participates in Pictures and Prayers will be given a word, and asked to take a picture and write a prayer or a poem about that word to share with other families. They can send the photo and prayer or poem in to us, and we will compile them all, and send you a Lenten reflection package in the mail. Then each day throughout Lent, your family can take a moment to look at the picture, reflect on the word for that day, and pray together. Just a few minutes to connect with one another, and with God, every day.

UPDATE - We will be assembling the packages soon, so families can't contribute a picture and prayer, but we still have space for families to sign up to receive a package to use as an at-home Lenten prayer practice!

There is no cost to families to participate in this project.

Of all of the things that impact faith formation through childhood and adolescence, practicing faith at home is the one that has the biggest impact, and we hope that this project will help families do just that, and help them come closer to God through Lent as we move toward Holy Week and Easter.

All Youth and Family Ministry programs, including this one, affirm and celebrate the lives and presence of 2SLGBTQIA+ people and their families.

Families can register now to be part of this project, or can get in touch with Allie at youthandfamily@nspeidiocese.ca or (902) 789 3481 if you have any questions!
