On November 30, at 6 p.m., members of the Diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island will gather in All Saints Cathedral in Halifax for an exuberant service of Holy Eucharist to celebrate the 50th anniversary of ordaining women to the priesthood in the Anglican Church of Canada. (Women were allowed to be ordained deacons in 1969.) That date coincides with the sixth anniversary of Bishop Sandra Fyfe’s ordination to the episcopacy and installation as bishop of this diocese, which took place under severe Covid restrictions with only 10 people present, so the service will include a celebration of that occasion. A reception at 4 p.m. will precede the worship.
