6-Minute Study - #468Prepare for the September Welcome Welcoming new faces into our congregations requires more than polite smiles—it takes a intentional, Holy Spirit-driven effort to turn passive friendliness into genuine, transformative community. By courageously examining our traditions, unlocking the gifts of the natural bridge-builders already sitting in our pews, and taking practical steps for a September restart, your church can create a community where everyone truly belongs. Read this article, "The Obstacle Is the Opening: Revitalizing Your Welcoming Ministry This Fall" which offers a roadmap for congregations ready to break out of comfortable routines and embrace a bolder vision of hospitality. It's published by the Episcopal Church's 'Invite. Welcome. Connect.' organization. For more infomation visit:

Anglicans Powering Potential
Thank you for your great support of SYTK 2026 Say Yes! to Kids 2026 has been very successful across Canada, exceeding its goal, as did we at Anglicans Powering Potential and the Cathedral Church of All Saints: We thank all who contributed to our joint campaign. We do not yet have the final total, but we know that we exceeded our goal of $5,000 by over $2,000 in support of Anchor Spryfield. Thank you to all who have made this outcome possible. Together with partners, the YWCA Halifax is creating the youth hub space, Anchor Spryfield, that embodies the YW's vision for intergenerational change and impact, where supporting the youth of today transforms the communities of tomorrow. That is why Anglicans Powering Potential and the Cathedral Church of All Saints came together for its Anglican Foundation of Canada's Say Yes! to Kids 2026 campaign, because we, like the YWCA Halifax, have an "ongoing commitment to equity, belonging, and community collaboration [while}...strengthening relationships and building community supports that help youth thrive." Many of you have helped make this vision for youth a reality - Thank you, thank you! Thinking Globally There are a number of dates in August, declared by the United Nstions, that are designed to draw attention to our global neighbours. With the 4th Mark of Mission of the Anglican Communion globally as a backdrop: to transform unjust structures of society, challenge violence of every kind, and pursue peace and reconcilition, we can offer prayers for the safety and well being of the neighbours identified in these special dates: August 9 - International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples August 12 - International Youth Day August 19 - World Humanitarian Day August 21st - International Day of Remembrance of and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism August 22nd - International Day Commemorating the victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion or Belief August 23rd - International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition August 30th - International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearance August 31st - International Day for People of African Descent |
