Announcements

Bishop Sandra is pleased to announce the appointment of:

Archdeacon Cathy Pharo as Priest-in-Charge for the Parish of St. Paul’s, Charlottetown, effective July 1, 2026, through December 31, 2026.

The Reverend Nicholas (Nic) Lucciola as Assistant Curate for the Parish of Saint George, Halifax, effective July 1, 2026. During this appointment, Nic will complete his pastoral training before his posting as a Canadian Armed Forces chaplain.

The Reverend Colin Nicolle as Rector for the Parish of St. Peter’s Cathedral, Charlottetown, effective November 16, 2026. Bishop Sandra has also accepted Colin's resignation as Rector for the Parish of Summerside and St. Elenors, effective November 15, 2026, in order for him to accept this new appointment.

The Rev'd Dr. Helen Ryding as Bishop's Chaplain to Retired Clergy, effective July 18, 2026

The Bishop's Chaplains will offer pastoral care and accompaniment to diocesan clergy who are either on a leave of absence from active ministry or who are retired. These new non-stipendiary ministries reflect ongoing efforts to discern how to best support our clergy, including those in times of transition or who are otherwise away from colleagues and parish networks. Bishop Sandra will continue to be available for pastoral care and accompaniment to diocesan clergy, and these new roles are meant to enable more ways of extending support.

Summer updates  

The Parish of French Village invites you to gather around a campfire (propane for safety) on the shores of St. Margaret's Bay on Sunday evenings during the summer for a time of fellowship and prayer. S'mores and cookies will be provided.

Gatherings are at 7:00pm, in case of rain, we will gather in the church.

Throughout July and August, St. John’s Anglican Church is opening its doors every Wednesday for a simple summer ministry called Welcome Wednesday.

From 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., all are welcome to stop by. Join us for a short morning prayer service at 11:00 a.m., explore our historic sanctuary, or simply take a quiet moment away from the busyness of the week for reflection and contemplation.

Whether you are a neighbour, a member of the community, or visiting Truro, we would be delighted to welcome you.

Anglican & United Churches have come together to participate in the Ch’town Pride Parade Sat. July 25^th. This year's festival invites us to reflect on the meaning of home. For many of us, home is more than a place, it's the people who stand beside us, the communities that welcome us, and the movement that reminds us we belong. As we march together, we celebrate the many ways we build home for ourselves and one another. (Please note, the parade starts at 10 am, which is new this year. St. Paul's Anglican Church warmly invites the community to the annual Blessing of the Boats on Sunday, July 26, at 2:30 p.m. at the Terence Bay Government Wharf. The service will be led by The Rev. Cate Ratcliffe and offers an opportunity to pray for the safety of those who work and travel on the water.

Following the blessing, attendees will have the opportunity to board the Bluenose II, which will be in port. Visitors are also encouraged to stop by the SS Atlantic Heritage Park Society Interpretation Centre at 180 Sandy Cove Road. Please bring a lawn chair for the service.

Join us for an afternoon of beautiful early Italian music as Pallade Musica performs as part of the Musique Royale 41st Summer Festival. The concert takes place on Sunday, July 26, at 4:00 p.m. at St. James Anglican Church, 36 Old Hill Road, Sherbrooke.

This year's show is being dedicated in Memory of Andy Hare.

Join Best of Boxwood for an exciting evening of traditional and contemporary music as part of the Musique Royale 41st Summer Festival. The concert will take place on Wednesday, August 5, at 7:00 p.m. at Trinity Anglican Church, 109 Queen Street, Digby.

Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door, and youth attend free.

The annual service at Old St. Edward’s Church will take place on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at 34 Old Post Road, Clementsport. All are welcome to join us for this special service, with a reception to follow. We look forward to gathering together to honour and celebrate the history of this beloved church.

Men are invited to join us for a weekend of fellowship, faith, and renewal at Men’s Camp, taking place August 21–23, 2026, at St. Anne’s Anglican Camp. With Rev. Dr. Peter Armstrong serving as chaplain, this weekend is an opportunity to reconnect with God and with one another as we seek to “rekindle the gift of God that is within you” (2 Timothy 1:6).

The Parish of St Margaret of Scotland is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, patient, and genuine individual to actively help us to facilitate the discipleship, and spiritual growth and development of our parish and neighborhood youth, providing them with a voice and the opportunity to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.

The DYM will be responsible for guiding children and adolescents in their understanding of themselves and their faith. Their duties include organizing youth events or retreats to encourage community building, teaching Sunday school and other educational programs and communicating with church staff about faith education needs.
