FLOURISHING FAITH October 11, 2026 — Thanksgiving Special
A flourishing congregation is grounded in a simple, life-giving truth: when we stay rooted in Christ, our daily lives naturally overflow with joy, gratitude, and spiritual vitality. To help our communities continue to grow a vibrant spiritual life, we are anchoring our faith formation around four practical, interconnected rhythms:
• Prayer & Spiritual Disciplines
• Christian Education & Study
• Worship & Sacramental Life
• Giving, Serving & Stewarding
ROOTED & REACHING · MICRO-PRACTICE
Harvest & Hospitality
Focus: Creation Care & Mutual Support
THE PRACTICE
Notice the physical abundance around you this week. Take 15 minutes to clear fallen autumn leaves from a public walkway or an elderly neighbour's steps, or gather non-perishable harvest items for a local food pantry—offering your labor as a quiet prayer of thanksgiving.
TRY THIS AT HOME
Simplify one household meal this week by using local or seasonal ingredients, and spend the dinner hour sharing three specific things you appreciate about the people gathered around your table.
PARISH REFLECTION
How can our parish better recognize God's provision by actively caring for our local environment and vulnerable neighbours this season?
"The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it." — Psalm 24:1
30-SECOND PULPIT ANNOUNCEMENT:
Good morning, church family. As we gather this Thanksgiving weekend to celebrate God's abundant harvest, we are handing out our latest Rooted & Reaching insert titled Harvest & Hospitality. Instead of our usual routine, this week's micro-practice invites us to connect our gratitude directly to creation care and local support—whether that means clearing autumn leaves from a neighbour's steps or simplifying a meal to share with someone in need. Take one of these inserts home today as we explore how our thankfulness can overflow into tangible care for our community. You'll find them in your bulletins or at the back doors.
