NOVA SCOTIA & PEI KNOWS HOW TO SAY YES! TO KIDS
In 2021 Anglican Foundation of Canada supporters in the Diocese of Nova Scotia were the most generous donors to the first Say Yes! to Kids campaign: raising more money than any other diocese. You helped to kickstart the Say Yes! to Kids movement and I am grateful. Some of you have asked how you can support this year's campaign, so I want you to know about the four fundraising teams in your Diocese this year: Christ Church, Amherst: Supporting unhoused youth through the launch of a Youth Navigation Fund and volunteer training program. Nova Scotia & PEI ACW: Sponsoring Indigenous delegates to attend the Canadian Lutheran Anglican Youth gathering in August 2023. St. Paul’s, Halifax: Growing a program of out trips, socials, and retreats to help their youth build meaningful connections. Cathedral Church of All Saints: Partnering with Ward 5 Neighbourhood Centre to raise funds for their Operation Summer Day Camp! You can click on the links highlighted above to give to one or more of these teams! And don't forget: for every $10 donated to the Diocese of Nova Scotia & PEI teams, $2 will support your diocesan Community Roots Day Camp which is building capacity for youth ministry leadership in communities across the Diocese. That's a win-win for everyone! Please give generously to your Nova Scotia & PEI Say Yes! to Kids teams this year and help to grow a brighter future for young people, today! Thank you! Dr. Scott Brubacher, Executive Director P.S. You can also mail a cheque payable to the Anglican Foundation of Canada, with the name of the team you wish to support in the memo line to the address below. Or write "Nova Scotia & PEI" in the memo line and your donation will be shared with all four teams. For more infomation visit:

Education for Ministry
Education for Ministry (EfM) is a program of theological education by extension for lay people. There are four years of study, but participants commit for one year at a time, meeting in small groups with a trained mentor. The program combines academic study with integrative components to help participants take what they learn about Scripture, church history, theology and ethics into their own lives and hearts, supporting them in living out a vibrant baptismal ministry in the church and in the world. EfM is also available for those who are unable to attend local classes. It is offered online using Zoom. If you are interested in joining an EfM group or wish to learn more about EfM please contact David Harrison, the Diocesan EfM Coordinator, via email (djh@djharrison.ca) Dave can put you in contact with a local mentor or provide you information. We are looking for students interested in joining new face-to-face classes in HRM/Hubbards areas and in Pictou as well as an ongoing class in Amherst. Tuition is $350.00 per year for face-to-face and online groups. If you are interested in joining an EfM Online group. I am also the EfM Canada Online Coordinator and an Online Mentor. REFRAMING MINISTRY to FOCUS ON PEOPLE
Special events and missional initiatives are great, but they are not the quick fix for renewing the church. Jesus first focused on people, the 'who', then he followed with the 'how' to minister to them. Read Kendra Creasy Dean's article published by the Lewis Centre for Church Leadership.
