Emerging adulthood is an important time in our lives. It’s a time of exploring who we are, where we fit in the world, and figuring out who we want to be. It’s kind of an in-between time, between late adolescence and adulthood. In the environment, the spaces in between different ecosystems are called edge habitats. These places are often incredible. All at once they are fragile and resilient, unsympathetic and life giving. Things that thrive there have to be able to do so in both of the worlds that they live in the middle of. In those spaces, beautiful and astounding possibilities exist. That’s what emerging adulthood is like.
The retreat is likely to be different from other retreats or conferences you’ve been to before. The schedule will be pretty open and flexible so that it can flow with our conversation. There are no speakers or workshops or expected outcomes, just time and space to be. We will cook and eat our meals together, spend time in prayer and worship, play games, and go outside and explore.
It’d be great to have you join us! If you feel you fit the description of an emerging adult and will be at least 18 years old by February 12, 2016, we’d be happy to receive your application! Space is limited, and applications will be considered as they come in, so please get your application in early.
There is a $60 registration fee, payable by cheque or cash. If that cost is a barrier to participation, please let us know, as bursaries are available to cover that fee.
