DEVELOPING HEALTHY CONGREGATIONS: (PDF Format)

Congregational Development, Stewardship, Outreach and Social Justice,

Inclusive & welcoming for regular membership, youth, families, shut-ins, marginalized, newcomers.
Inspiring worship life; passionate spirituality. Liturgical flexibility.
Active social justice, outreach and pastoral care.
Education, awareness, advocacy through communication of Diocesan positions on controversial issues.
Mature stewardship of all resources – time, talent, treasure -- maintenance of "spiritual house"
Youth drawn in, held in, and empowered as members of our Church.
 

  1. EMBRACING YOUTH:

    Youth, Ministry, Community, Witness, Stewardship

    Youth Initiatives coordinated & encouraged at Diocesan level - coaching, listening, nurturing.
    Youth Music Program.
    Faith formation gatherings.
    Forums for youth expression, dialog, debate, consensus defining self as Anglican & as a Christian.
    Youth community development.
    Communications conduit – two way – youth to/from adult
    Instruction in scripture and history --enabling awareness of spiritual identity and hunger for ongoing discovery.
    Enabling youth action in social justice, outreach, ecumenism and mission.
     
  2. ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND EFFECTIVENESS:

    Administration, Standards, Communication, Organizational Effectiveness


    Effective administrative framework, linking all levels of Diocesan structure.
    Diocese, Region, Parish networked & working together.
    "Sharing best practice" – administrative & program “glue & linkage”
    Atmosphere of open communication, collaboration & trust.
    Bishop as Chief Pastor, Diocese as enabler to ministering congregations.
    Clergy & lay leadership wellness
    Leadership programming – train, equip, encourage, support
     
  3. ANGLICAN CHRISTIAN FORMATION:

    Education, Ministry, Spiritual Development:

    Life-long journey of discovery, learning and
    faith development.
    Emphasis on "Ministry" as a verb, not a noun.
    Back to basics – Baptismal Covenant is key. Active, not passive ministry.
    Total Ministry of all the baptized.
    Spiritual development programming at every age level --Sunday School to Youth to Adult.
    Distinct Anglican identity expressed in faith & tradition, reconnection with scripture, sacredness of Life.
    Active discussion with clear positions on societal issues from Anglican Christian perspective.
