Conference Theme
Does you parish need a new sense of purpose? Do you want to encourage parishioners to participate more fully but don’t know where to start? If so, we have the conference for you!

Increasingly, parishes are discovering that a focus on intentional shepherding will result in greater participation and lead to a more complete worship experience for parishioners.

Come and join Dr. Kennon Callahan, a North American specialist in growing churches and teaching stewardship, as he leads us in a dynamic and thoughtful workshop examining the two most important characteristics of an effective, successful, sustainable, vibrant and Christ-centered church.

  1. A Strong Sense of Mission. That is, ‘Who needs our ministry?’ and ‘How can we serve them?’
  2. Shepherding has something to do with Loving, Listening, Learning and Leading.

People don’t come to church to serve on a committee; they come for community. People come to church programs because they are looking to belong. Only by strong and effective shepherding can a parish reach out to people and create in them a sense of belonging.

At this thought-provoking workshop you will learn how strong parish shepherding can:

  • make people feel they belong and take ownership of the needs of others and their parish;
  • help people to make monetary offerings in new, spiritually different ways;
  • provide people with life altering experiences and help them grow in a closer relationship with God.

Imagine your parish as a dynamic community where people feel they belong, take interest in the needs of others and take ownership of the needs of the parish! Imagine your parish as a community where monetary contributions are made as a thank-you offering from the heart, rather than a dutiful ‘pay as I go’.

Don’t miss this opportunity to join with Anglicans across our diocese as we discover how an understanding of shepherding in our parishes can breathe new life into a congregation, and how shepherding can help us all grow in our relationship with God!
