Sisters of Saint John the Divine
In 1936 the Sisters of Saint John the Divine answered an appeal from Bishop HacKenley to take charge of All Saints’ Hospital in Springhill, Nova Scotia, a 50-bed hospital serving the mining community and surrounding farming district. They worked there for 12 years until the hospital closed because the Diocese lacked sufficient funds for the necessary upgrading.
The photo below shows several of the sisters with the graduating class of nurses. (Taken from The Eagle, Christmas 2008.)
