DYC

DYC is designed to empower the youth of our Diocese to continue an active life as Christians in our church. It provides them an opportunity to explore their spirituality among peers and to identify and strengthen areas of ministry that may be of interest to them. It is a hope of the conference organizers that they will return to their home parishes enthused to share what they have learned and experienced. Two DYC precursor events were held in 2001 and 2002 where those attending discerned the need to proceed with planning for the first DYC in 2003.

Over 120 teens with 40 young and old adults on the leadership team from across the diocese attended the two and a half day event on the campus of Atlantic School of Theology at the end of October. The event, still a great success, continues to be held with 75-100 teens attending annually.
