Eastern Shore Region
We on the Eastern Shore are so fortunate to enjoy God’s beauty in His creation of the rugged shoreline in this part of the Province. As we travel through our Region, every turn of the road displays a beautiful scene, especially in Fall with the vibrant red and yellow of the trees. Only a short distance from the main road are vast beaches and the roar of the ocean, where you can walk for miles in solitude.
As custodians of our churches in our time, we give thanks for generations before us who built small churches where they settled, accessible by footpath, horseback or by boat. Today their family names live on and their stories are still told; historic and family ties form a treasured part of our heritage.
This heritage of living faith continues in our small communities. Love and help pours out when a member of the community is in need. We are people of hospitality and celebration. Church suppers, musical events and ecumenical gatherings help us enjoy one another and be united. It is always good to come home to the blessings and peacefulness of the woods and waters, and the fellowship of small, loving, praying communities.
The Region has six parishes with a total of 25 churches. Areas closer to the city expect population growth, while the eastern part of the Region is more sparsely populated. We see a future through supporting one another by sharing resources among our parishes.
