The Rev. Jamie Howison - guest speaker at King's and AST

In conjunction with his visit to the University of King’s College Chapel, the Rev. Jamie Howison, founder of an Anglican community called "Saint Benedict's Table" will also visit AST. He will be speaking at a number of special events, both at King’s and AST, that will be of interest to many in the AST community. All are welcome, as follows:


Wednesday, January 23

Thursday, January 24

The Rev. Howison will be guest preacher at AST community worship – “Benedict and New Community”

Time: 11:45 a.m.

Location: AST’s St. Columba Chapel

Community Hour “Ministry in a New Key”

Time: 12:30 p.m.

Solemn Eucharist

Public Lecture

“John Coltrane: In search of sound and meaning”

Time: 7:30 p.m. (Lecture is preceded by 30 minutes of music in the spirit of John Coltrane, beginning at 7 p.m.) Location: University of King’s College campus – KTS Lecture Hall, New Academic Building, 2nd floor

About the Lecture: Jamie Howison, author of the recently released God's Mind in that Music, speaks of Coltrane's significance as both a jazz player and a cultural icon. He will address Coltrane's impact as a "cultural intellectual" and a "theological musician."
