Justice Camp

The Diocese is searching for delegates to the 2014 Justice Camp to be held in Edmonton from August 15 to 21, 2014. If you or someone you know would like to learn through active immersion within the communities challenged by social justice issues, Justice Camp is for you. The theme for 2014 is Land. More information on the Land Justice Camp and the immersion opportunities is available at www.justicecamp.ca

The Mission, Outreach and Social Justice Team (MOST) of the Diocese will support four delegates, two aged 18-30 and two aged over 30 at $750 each. Please contact Andy Sherin immediately ([email protected]) for more information on the expectations MOST has of the delegates. Please include ‘Justice Camp’ in the subject line of your responding e-mail. Expressions of interest in becoming a delegate to the Land Justice Camp including your willingness to meet the MOST expectations should be sent to the same e-mail address. No expressions of interest will be considered after 1 June 2014.

Additional financial support may be available from the Lay Legacy Leadership Fund. Send applications for this funding to the Rt. Rev. Ron Cutler by mail or e-mail ([email protected]) giving:  a brief summary of the event, the costs associated with attending, where the rest of the money will come from and how your participation will benefit ministry in your parish or the diocese. Meetings to consider applications to the Lay Legacy Leadership Fund will be held on April 23 and May 14. Applications to be considered should be submitted well before one of these dates.
