The Church of the Nativity, Sandy Cove
...in the Parish of Digby Weymouth is looking for priests to come to the village this summer and live rent free in our rectory in return for celebrating the Eucharist every Sunday at 11:00 am. This invitation is made with the full knowledge and approval of Bishop Moxley and our Rector, the Rev Mel Malton.
Those coming would only have to feed themselves, reimburse us for long distance telephone calls and provide their own travel and recreation whilst they are here. In order to minimize the work between visitors, we would expect visitors to stay for at least two weeks.
The church is normally open from about the middle of May through until Thanksgiving. The Sundays from June 24th to August 19th are spoken for. July 29th will be a Parish Service and the Rector will celebrate. Priests from outside the Diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island are most welcome, but will be subject to the usual protocol for permissions.
Sandy Cove is located on beautiful Digby Neck about 35 km south west of Digby, Nova Scotia. There is lots of site seeing, whale watching, hiking and exploring to keep people busy during the week. The congregation runs from 35 to 50 during the summer and consists mostly of summer people from all over North America.
We would entertain requests for any other dates.
