Those coming would only have to feed themselves,  reimburse us for long distance telephone calls and provide their own travel and recreation whilst they are here.  In order to minimize the work between visitors, we would expect visitors to stay for at least two weeks. [read more]

Part-time Music Director

(Organist, Pianist & Choir Director)

St. Andrew’s Anglican Church Dartmouth is located near the main entrance to the picturesque Shubie Park, a significant gateway to the historic Shubie Canal.  It has served the local area known as Port Wallace for 76 years, an area that in recent years has experienced a tremendous amount of growth.  Although situated in the Metro area St. Andrew’s has maintained its charm of a being small community church with a mission of striving to always be a Welcoming Spiritual Community to all who enter.   As a community we are in an exciting time as we are about to embark on a three year strategic plan which we believe will enable us to better meet the spiritual needs of our surrounding community.  One of the areas we have identified as a must to achieve this is a strong and vibrant music program within the church community and we seek a person who is excited to help us achieve this goal.

The main responsibilities of this position are;  selection of appropriate music/hymns to particular services that help to set the tone and mood of the overall worship experience; lead one choir practice a week;  play and lead the gathered community in music at Sunday worship and special services. We use the Anglican Common Praise Hymn Book (1998), Mission Praise Song Book, and a variety of other contemporary and traditional Christian Music resourced through other means.

To Apply please submit your resume to Music Director Selection Committee, 8 Locks Rd., Dartmouth, NS, B2X 2J4   OR e-mail resume to trevor@standrewsdartmouth.ca with a subject line that reads: Music Director Selection Committee, by January 31st.
