At Diocesan Council held last weekend a layperson from one of our parishes presented information of a program available in Nova Scotia which might present a cost-saving opportunity to parishes. The attached Efficiency Nova Scotia Direct Install Program 2011 is outlined in the linked document. Please note that the deadline is December 30th, 2011. The Most Rev. Frederick James Hiltz is the 13th Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada. Born in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, the Archbishop has lived most of his life by the Atlantic Ocean. On behalf of the Paul Wattson Committee, we are pleased to extend a warm welcome to him as the guest speaker for the annual Paul Wattson Lecture.
The Paul Wattson Lecture is sponsored by the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement and AST in cooperation with Saint Mary’s University. The lecture honours the memory of the Rev. Paul James Francis Wattson, S.A. (1863-1940), founder of the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement and pioneer for the cause of Christian unity.

Peace Seeds Event
On Monday, November 7, 2011, at 7:30 pm, St. Timothy’s Anglican Church in Hatchet Lake, NS will host an evening of relaxation and peace.
Ken Osbourne will be presenting “The Peace Seeds” prayers for peace from the world's 12 major religions. They were first prayed 25 years ago in 1986 during the International Year of Peace. This live performance of prayers will feature Tibetan singing bowls and nature sounds. Funds raised at this event will support programs run by St. Timothy’s as well as a Tibetan Children’s Orphanage. The evening will also provide a venue for the release of Ken’s “Peace Seeds” CD (all profits from this event being donated to St. Timothy’s).

This Remembrance Day weekend the St. Luke’s Players of St. Luke’s United Church in Upper Tantallon will perform Mudsongs, a musical production about the First World War, a conflict that has received very little attention in recent years. Mudsongs, written by local playwright J. Frederick Brown, includes popular music of the time, is directed by Hubley resident Elaine Forhan.
The source material for Mudsongs is twofold: a British Publication called Mud, Songs and Blighty by Colin Walsh and a Canadian Publication, My Grandfather’s War by William D. Mathieson.
Performance times are Fri Nov 11th at 7:30 pm, Sat Nov 12th at 7:30 pm, and Sun Nov 13th at 2:30 pm at St. Luke’s United Church, 5374 St. Margaret’s Bay Rd. Upper Tantallon. Tickets are $12. For more information or to book tickets please call 826-2523.
