NOTIFICATION OF OPENING

 

Director of the Anglican Formation Program at Atlantic School of Theology

The Right Rev. Ron Cutler is inviting applications for the position of Director of the Anglican Formation Program at Atlantic School of Theology, Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Director of the Anglican Formation Program, under the direction of the Suffragan Bishop and in consultation with the Discernment and Formation Sub-Committee, is responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating the implementation of the Formation Program for Anglican ordination candidates at Atlantic School of Theology. This is a half-time position. SYNOD OFFICE NOTICES:

 

Summer Hours

The Synod Office at 6017 Quinpool Road will close at noon each Friday until after Labour Day.  Office hours, Monday through Thursday, remain the same: 9am to 5pm.  This Friday, July 1st, the office will be closed the entire day for the Canada Day holiday.

THEOLOGY SYMPOSIUM

Getting to the Art of it

This symposium has been made possible by the generous support of the Wabash Center for Teaching and Learning in Religion and Theology and AST. The Wabash grant provided funding to explore the value and relevance of visual art as a pedagogical tool for teaching and learning theology in an academic setting and involved student volunteers from Dr. David Deane’s winter semester courses. Further details on the daylong program are below.

MEETINGS:

 

MEETING ROOMS:  Limited space is available for meetings at the new Synod Office location, 6017 Quinpool Road, Halifax during regular office hours (9am-5pm Monday-Thursday; mornings only on Fridays during the summer).  Our boardroom can accommodate 8 comfortably around the table; likely 12 would be maximum for that room.  Email the Synod Office at: office@nspeidiocese.ca for bookings.  Please note that there is no designated parking for anyone visiting the Synod Office for meetings or otherwise.  Local streets have some time-limited and all day parking provisions on a first-come basis.

The 10th Annual Walter Gretzky CNIB Golf Classic will take place on Friday, July 22nd at the Chester Golf Club.  

Funds raised will support programs and services for Nova Scotians who are blind or partially sighted as well as CNIB Gretzky youth programs.

                               

Every registered team has a chance to win dinner with the world’s most famous hockey dad at Dofsky’s Grill in Halifax.
