The Rev’d Krista Hilton has transferred to the Diocese of Niagara where she has accepted the bishop’s license as Honorary Assistant at St. George’s Church, Guelph, effective December 15th.
First Coming
He did not wait till the world was ready,
till men and nations were at peace.
He came when the Heavens were
unsteady,
and prisoners cried out for release.
He did not wait for the perfect time.
He came when the need was deep and
great.
He dined with sinners in all their grime,
turned water into wine. He did not wait
till hearts were pure. In joy he came
to a tarnished world of sin and doubt.
To a world like ours, of anguished
shame
he came, and his Light would not go
out.
He came to a world which did not mesh,
to heal its tangles, shield its scorn.
In the mystery of the Word made Flesh
the Maker of the stars was born.
We cannot wait till the world is sane
to raise our songs with joyful voice,
for to share our grief, to touch our pain,
He came to Love, Rejoice! Rejoice!
from "A Cry Like a Bell" by Madeline L'Engle; Harold Shaw Publishers, Wheaton, Illinois

The Advent-Epiphany (November 29, 2009 – February 14, 2010) issue of Praying with our partners – a Canadian Supplement to the Anglican Cycle of Prayer, is now posted on the Anglican Church of Canada’s website for use in all parishes.
Please visit the website at http://www.anglican.ca/mission/resources/pwop/index.htm to download this resource.
We are sending this email to Dioceses, to ask that you share this information with your parishes.
We maintain a mailing list of about 70 Anglican parishes throughout the Church, who have requested hard copies because of their inability to access the Anglican Church of Canada’s website, and we do hope that parishes that are able to download Praying with our partners will find it useful to incorporate into their weekly intercessions.
For parishes on the Irving Oil Plan, the furnace oil price for the period of December 19th to December 29th, 2009 is $0.6021 per litre.
