The Rev. Lester Skonnord

I was born in Assiniboia Saskatchewan and attended various church schools: LCBI in Outlook,Sask., CLBI in Camrose Alberta, Luther College in Regina, Lutheran Theological Seminary in Saskatoon,  as well as the University of Regina and Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.   I taught school at Bogia Catholic High School in Madang Province Papua New Guinea as a CUSO volunteer.  For twenty-five years I have been an ordained Lutheran Minister and have served parishes in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario as well as Nova Scotia.  Presently I am close to accompletion of my certification as an Institutional Chaplain with CAPPE.
I teach Tai Chi Chuan and have studied reiki, hypnotism, therapeutic touch, shiatzu and chi gong.  I have long had an interest in world religions; my undergraduate degree is in religious studies and I almost completed an MA in religious studies with a focus on religious pluralism today.

My wife Betty works for Community Services and my son John is studying Engineering at Dalhousie University.
